A minute ago it was March, and yet when we woke up this morning, it was December. How? HOW? With the season well and truly upon us, but also life in the way, we’ve made it really easy for you to nail your christmas gifting. There’s something for everyone here, and you’re literally just a click away from having your entire Christmas list crossed off thanks to our Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide at MU Australia (naturally).
For the Kris Kringle:
Badger Lip Balm Red Christmas GIft Set, $23.50
Male, female, young, old, there is no one who doesn’t appreciate soft, moisturised lips — which means whoever you get in your KK, this works for all. Genius. This trip of lip goodness has three organic lip balms, two which are scented (Lavender and Orange and Pink Grapefruit) and one unscented so you can’t lose.
For Mum:
Mum-gifts are hard. What do you give the person who literally gave you life? Aside from a lifetime supply of hugs, here’s a couple of options. Fancy bubble bath, like this one, Elegance By Lollia, $109, because it’s the closest thing to relaxation in a bottle that you can buy. If fancy baths aren’t her thing, a fancy candle is your next bet, since it’s something she probably wouldn’t buy herself but will absolutely love. Urban Apothecary Fig Tree and Cherry Blossom, $85 are both classic, stunning scents you can’t go wrong with. Or you could get both, just saying.
For Dad:
They say money can’t buy style, but it can buy good taste in grooming products — especially if you’re the one buying for hi, The Perfume Oil Company Vice is inspired by the 10x more expensive Tom Ford Fragrance Tobacco Vanille, so do we need to say more? Or, if he’s sporting facial hair Badger Balm’s Beard Grooming Kit, $74.95 will definitely be an upgrade from the Imperial Leather he’s probably using.
For the tween girl:
This is how you win a way to a tween girl's heart (while still keeping the parents happy). Buy them fun, safe cosmetics to experiment with! Blossom’s Prismatic Lip Water, $14.95 is pre-loaded with sparkle for extra Christmas cheer but jojoba oil will actually nourish the lips, while Blossom’s Raspberry and Coconut Nectar Perfume and Lip Oil, $22 is a genius double sided wand with raspberry flavoured gloss on one end and coconut oil on the other, combining great scents with great teen loves.
For your Sister:
We’ve got this one easily sorted. Paddywax make the most fun and chic candles, with so many stunning vessels, there’s easily one to suit her decor (we love Rosewood Vanilla and Lush Palms, but honestly you can't lose). Candles not her thing? What about a Bath and Body Oil like Kasbah from The Perfume Oil Co, $49.95, which does double duty in–and out— the bath.
For your Bestie:
Got a notoriously-hard-to-buy-for best friend? Not for us. A fleet of fragrances like The Perfume Oil Co’s Bloom Perfume Oil Gift Set, $69.95 allows her to find her favourite scent, while also having a stash of handbag-friendly fragrances at the ready. This may be out of the box, but a bougie handwash is also a great “would never buy herself” gift that is always appreciated. Naturals by the Aromatherapy Co Coconut and Passionberry is a beautiful summer scent while Urban Apothecary’s Velvet Peony is a luxe addition she’ll want to rebuy again and again.
For Granny:
A luxe hand cream is one of those never-fail gifts that will always be a winner - no matter what age. Lollia do gorgeous, nourishing hand creams that are already packaged like a gift. Imagine, In Love and Relax, with its lavender and honey scent are easy go-tos.
For the Husband:
A fragrance! It’s a no-brainer. Let’s be real: this is a gift for you, wrapped up as a gift for him, but he doesn’t have to know. Solid State’s Absolute Extrait de Parfum, has fruity notes (pineapple, lime) underscored by woods for a masculine hit, while Dear August’s Jazz is a dead ringer for Maison Margiela’s Jazz Club is woody and spicy, think: pepper, tobacco, vanilla and rum.
For the Teachers / Carers:
Carer gifts need to be universally appealing and unisex, which can be a tough brief. Paddywax’s Heirloom Tomato Bistro Candle Tin, $19.95 is perfect here, as is the chic, reusable car fresheners (with a side of humour) of Smelly Balls.
For the Woo-Woo one:
Whether they’re an avid lover of the mystic, or just someone who lives by their weekly star signs, we’ve got the entire zodiac covered. Demeter Fragrance Library’s Zodiac EDTs offer a tailored scent for every sign, while Crazy Rumors Zodiac Lip Balms, $9.95 are 100% natural balms with a bespoke flavour profile for each sign and Paddywax has a Jasmine and Rose Candle, $34.95 housed in a moon phase vessel.
The Backup Gift (for that person you totally forgot about):
It’s always good to have an “in case of emergency” gift for the unexpected guest, the boyfriend/ girlfriend that tagged along on the day, or in case you forgot to count someone on your Christmas list. Our vote goes to Demeter Fragrance Library’s Gingerbread Cologne, $34.95 which is just festive enough to be appropriate, in a smell that no one will turn away.
