Fragrances is one of those things that transcend all boundaries. It doesn’t matter what your age, skin colour or size is, there’ll always be a fragrance you can wear. The hard part is, of course, finding the one that’s right for you (we’ve made a handy guide for that here) But, if you’re looking for gift inspiration, well we can definitely help with that. Behold, your fragrance-buying guide for the whole family.
Tween: If you have a pre-teen in your life, look no further than Blossom Natural Perfume Oil, $15.95. These roll on oils are made from natural perfume oil, and have real flowers encased in each bottle for extra prettiness. There’s Coconut Nectar, which is perfect for summer, Honey Jasmine, a sweet and pretty flora, Vanilla Orchid for the vanilla fanatics, and Cactus Flower for those who like things a little different.
Teen: The universal truth about teens is that they all aspire to be older than they are, so buying for this age group can be tricky because it needs to be aspirational but still age appropriate. This is where Demeter Fragrance Library, $32.95 steps in. The single-note fragrances are Colognes, so never overpowering and their focus in on evoking memory and capturing a moment. Cute. Try Sunshine (like sun on fresh washing); Bubble Gum (sweet and nostalgic) or Pixie Dust for a fruity and sweet scent with a hint of magic.
Sister: A sister is always a hard one to buy for. She almost always has everything and is probably fussy too. But naturally we have the perfect find: Kleins Perfumery, $39. Just niche enough that she won’t already own it, this Melbourne perfumery makes artisanal fragrances with high concentrations of perfume oils, and decorated with artwork by contemporary artists. There’s Sweet Pea for the floral-lover; New Moon is she likes her florals darker and mixed with incense; Citrusy for a sunny slice of summer or Fig Leaves which is a total crowd-pleaser.
For him: Whether it’s your dad, your husband or your brother, let’s be honest: they wear the fragrances we pick out for them. So really, this is us picking out something for them… that we’ll love too. Demeter serve up some quirkier options like Freshly Brewed Coffee, Fireplace and Dirt (an earthy scent much nicer than you think!). The Perfume Oil Company has some more traditional scents like Spritz, $34.95 which is inspired by Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gioia or Santal which is inspired by Le Labo’s Santal 33, or if he’s a little more daring in his choices, Tokyo Milk Dark offers bold EDP’s like Bulletproof, $89 (woody, smokey, earthy) and Eclipse (aromatic and fresh).
Grandma: And of course we can’t forget about grandma. Lollia Always in Rose, EDP, $115 is a classic rose that will always be a hit; Tokyo Milk Anthemossa, $79.95 mixes florals with Amber and Citrus and Lollia’s Elegance EDP, $120 mixes white amber and mirabelle for a pretty, and true-to-its-name elegant, fragrance.
If you’re looking for fragrance gifts this is just the tip of the iceberg. We have a wide range of scents to suit everyone in the family (yes even great Aunt Maud), so if you don’t see anything you like here, head to our fragrance page to find the right one for you.
