Want bang for your buck? Then, read on…
We’re all trying to make our money work harder and last longer. But when it comes to beauty, you also want formulations that will be great quality – because there’s no point in saving money if you have to repurchase a product that doesn’t do its job. Luckily, our MO here at MU is products that work, and are kind to your bank account. But these ones are special, because not only are they fantastic products, they’ll also leave you with plenty of change from a $50, which conveniently is enough to buy a couple of wines with. You’re welcome. Here’s our picks of the best of the bunch.
The buy: Weleda Skin Food Light, $24.95
Why we love it: It’s a one-product wonder that can be used for pretty much anything: moisturiser, face mask, cuticle cream – you name it, this is perfect for it. Want to know more about its magical ways? Read the blog we wrote about it here.
The buy: Ever Eco Bamboo Reusable Facial Pads, $24.95
Why we love it: Every little eco change you make at home matters, and if we can do our little bit within our beauty routine, well that’s a good start. These washable facial rounds are super soft on the skin and perfect for removing masks, cleansers, or using micellar water, and they also come with their own washable bag. Plus black means less mascara/ foundation staining. Ideal.
The buy: Crazy Rumors Tropical Lip Colour, $9.95
Why we love it: Soothing, nourishing, and smells delicious – that’s enough to sell us right there. But the real drawcard of this balm is that it offers a hint of berry tint for your lips. Just enough so that you feel “done” , not enough to be overdone, so perfect for everyday. Plus it’s vegan and all-natural to boot.
The buy: The Perfume Oil Company SANTAL, perfume oil, $29.95
Why we love it: Inspired by Le Labo’s cult fragrance, Santal 33, this handbag-friendly concentrated perfume oil is perfect for on the go as it’s compact, and long-lasting (6-15 hours!). Now that’s bang for very little buck.
The buy: Soak Society Vitamin A Serum with Retinol, $29.95
Why we love it: Ask any dermatologist and they will tell you that Retinol (Vitamin A) is the gold standard in anti-ageing ingredients. It helps to increase cell turnover (which slows as you age) and also to soften fine lines. This mild retinol also includes nourishing squalane which helps with irritation, but vitamin A does make skin photo-sensitive,so always be sure to only use at night, and to use a sunscreen, daily.
The buy: Soak Society Vitamin C Serum, $24.95
Why we love it: If vitamin A is your night time MVP, vitamin C is the one you want around each and every day. The antioxidant helps fight against free radical damage which in turn helps keep skin cells health, firm, even and bright.
The buy: Ena Mandarin and Bergamot Hand Treatment, $16.50
Why we love it: Made from all natural, 100% plant based ingredients and essential oils, this hand cream smells (and works) like a fancy boutique hand cream, but at a third of the price. And it fits in your back pocket so you’ll never be without.
