Beauty products are not one application only – you can often double (or triple) down on the uses to both cut down your costs, and your cupboard space. Only been using your products for one thing? Let us teach you the many ways your beauty products can multitask (they must be women - right?). Because if they’re only being used for one thing, they’re frankly being a bit lazy.
Use your face oil for hair and cuticles:
If your face oil has hydrating ingredients like argan or marula, then it’s a prime product for all the other parts of your body that need moisturising too. Dropper a little onto your cuticles and massage in to nourish them, especially in the winter months when hands get a particular beating. Or, use a drops warmed between your hands and pat gently only the hair (mid lengths and ends only) to tame flyaways and seal cuticles.

Use your night cream for day:
A cream is a cream, regardless of whether it’s marketed as a night - or a day – one. The only real exception is products with sunscreen which are completely redundant at night, for obvious reasons. Also some ingredients, like retinols are better used at nighttime because they can make skin photo-sensitive, but this aside, your creams are really interchangeable. So go forth and ignore the marketing!

Use your lipstick for blush:
One of our favourite time-saving hacks is to double up on your lipstick/ blush choice. Just choose a colour that works for both, and simply dab one dot onto your cheeks and blend well to use as a cream blush. For lips, apply as normal for a pigmented, stronger look, or dab on and blend with the fingers for more of a lip stain effect.
Try: Ere Perez Olive Oil Lipstick, $34
Use your body oil as a bath soak:
The easiest way to turn your tub into a luxe experience is to pop a few drops of your favourite body oil into the water as it’s running. It turns the soak silky and nourishes the body in a way you thought was only possible for the likes of royalty. Plus, you emerge so moisturised you can even skip the post-bath body cream.

Use your body cream as hand cream:
A no-brainer combo, any body butter or body lotion can also double as a hand cream. You can even add a drop of of face oil to the mix too if you’re going for an ultra-bougie experience, that will take the hands into next-level softness.
